Evaluations for University Assignments

Level 4:  2nd Semester Evaluations

  • Cut-Out
I think the cut-out animation went well. At first, it was difficult since each member of the group had different arrangements and so, it wasn’t possible to meet up often. This was solved by splitting the group up, but then we were at a disadvantage since we had less time because we didn’t get much done in the first week as the bigger group. However, we managed to get our assignment done to a good degree and I was pleased with the end results.

  • Mixed Media
I worked solitarily this time (because of the hiccups last time). Because I was on my own, I thought it best to start animating right away and not waste time creating my own sounds. I procured a soundtrack from one of my favourite games to use in the assignment, which meant I couldn’t use the animation in the future but I felt the actual practice was more valuable than the animation itself. I enjoyed doing the animation and it came out better than I expected.

  • 3D Stop Motion
This has been one of the tougher assignments to date, not only because we had to build sets and puppets from scratch but also because other things interfered with the schedule. Back in a group again, it was a much better experience this time around as the group was quite good in getting together and working. Although our set and puppets were a little minimalistic in design, this was intentional to fit in with the style we wanted to create and it made the process of creation that much more fun.
