The Stoke Your Fires Animation Festival wasn't really my kind of scene as there was (quite obviously) animations being shown but also some film exhibitions. There wasn't any game related media here so I was a little disappointed.
A few of the films and animations were quite interesting, in particular, an animation which was basically an allegory of the stages of life in the context of lots of people sailing their boats on the sea. Another particularly effective one was called 'Birdman', where it began as a cute, childish animation and then it suddenly turned into a serious thing with mature themes such as drugs, murder and nuclear war.
Some of the films as well were quite effective, such as one where a village was suffering a drought and famine, and they are forced to murder each other and cannibalize them to survive. The rest of the films I don't remember too well as I didn't find them particularly interesting. All in all, I thought a few of the demonstrations were good, but not too memorable.
