Game On!- Sunny Monster Concept Art

Sunny was the most troublesome, as we designed her originally as a normal 7 year-old girl. However, after playing the 'Justine' expansion of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and experiencing the antagonists of that (the Suitors), we decided to give Sunny a similar motif: metal rattling sounds as she moves.

We did this by expanding her backstory to reveal that Sunny is in fact physically handicapped, and dons special medical gear in order to walk. She has two leg braces that penetrate the skin and are rooted to her thigh bone or femur. Her left arm is in a state of atrophy, and kept in an arm brace. Finally, her spine has a curvature that forces her to wear a neck guard.

Although the character looks even more unfortunate, we felt it was a unique idea, as the Suitors from 'Justine' are wearing manacles and chains (due to being incarcerated), while Sunny's metal is more personal. Despite her handicap, Sunny's story remains roughly the same, especially her academic prowess.

Like before, I've done 3 versions of Sunny, just changing the colour scheme really to get different reactions:

Sunny has a bright colour scheme, although not saturated. She appears quite muted, and not too threatening. Her skin has become mottled gray, with black scorches.

This is essentially the same as the first one except I wanted the colours to be deeper in order to make her look more burned and charred.

As I wasn't too pleased with the second one, I chose to revamp the original colours in order to make Sunny comparable to the Dana monster, with much more noticeably charred skin which result in a much more painful image.
